High School Rowing
Who
Any student 9th-12th grade, any experience level.
When
During the school year- 3:45-6:30pm Monday to Friday.
Saturday from 7-10am
Where
Practices are at Blackburn Point Park or the Scullers Club House. We aim to hold mostly water practices.
Cost
$1,200 for Fall 2023.
Season is August 14th to December 19th.
All races in Sarasota or in close proximity are free – all other races will be billed individually … information’s will be given beforehand.
$200 registration fee for new-to-Scullers rowers.

In 2023 two of our High School rowers are off to college and continuing their rowing, many more have gone on to elite teams, rowing in D classified colleges, and some even returned and became coaches by themselves in the sport they learned to love at Scullers.
The Sarasota Scullers offers a two-year scholarship for four athletes
The criteria’s are:
a) two scholarships for male athletes
a1) the athlete starts his JUNIOR year for the 2024 season
a2) the athlete is committed to row the PAIR (2-) and has the long-term goal to try out of the USRowing Junior National Team
a3) the athlete has an 2k C2 Erg score of 6.25 or below
b) two scholarships for female athletes
b1) the athlete starts his JUNIOR year for the 2024 season
b2) the athlete is committed to row the PAIR (2-) and has the long-term goal to try out of the USRowing Junior National Team
b3) the athlete has an 2k C2 Erg score of 7.25 or below

No experience is necessary!
We welcome all high school rowers, regardless of experience. At Scullers, we teach you the tools needed to become successful in rowing and in life. Our coaches will push you to exceed your own expectations, while keeping your safety as a top priority. Fast, friendly, and fun is the name of the game here at Scullers.
Our high school team travels around the state and region to compete in regattas. Highlights include the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the US Rowing National Championships, Head of the Charles, and others. Our coaching staff determines the regatta schedule each season, but expect 3-5 races in the fall and 3-6 races in the spring.
Each year, our rowers are recruited to and attend colleges. Some continue rowing, others take the lessons with them. Some of our recent graduates have attended Drexel, Georgetown, Harvard, La Salle University, University of Louisville, University of Florida, USF, Bucknell, Stanford, just to name a few.
Our rowers are here because they are passionate about the sport and their team. We welcome you to join us today!
PLEASE NOTE: If a student-athlete from another FSRA program would like to join the Sarasota Scullers, they are more than welcome. Transfers must comply with current FSRA rules.
